Sergio D’Angelo is an Italian DJ and record producer active since 1979, with a career spanning club culture, house music and international record production.
From his early years behind the decks to international performances and studio productions, his career has developed across different generations of dance music while maintaining a strong connection to soul, funk and house.
Sergio D’Angelo began his journey behind the decks in 1979, building his experience through the evolving Italian club scene of the 1980s and 1990s.
His career soon extended beyond Italy. In 1994, he performed at the legendary Jimmy’z in Monte-Carlo, an early milestone in an international path that would later take him to renowned clubs and destinations across Europe and beyond.
Over the following years, D’Angelo performed at venues including El Divino in Ibiza, Bananas & Co. in Formentera, Platinium in Warsaw, Acqua in Basel and Pulse at the Mövenpick Hotel in Dubai, while progressively developing the production work that would become a central part of his musical career.
One of the most significant collaborations in Sergio D’Angelo’s career came with legendary American soul singer Solomon Burke.
The story began in Los Angeles through violinist Simona Mana, a friend of D’Angelo who was working with Burke. Before one of his concerts, Burke happened to hear a production Sergio had made with Andrea Love and, impressed by the sound, asked who the producer was.
That unexpected moment led to a direct connection. D’Angelo later sent Burke an instrumental production; Solomon wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals, creating “I’m So In Love With You.”
The collaboration brought together D’Angelo’s roots in house and dance music with the unmistakable soul tradition of Solomon Burke.
Alongside his career as a DJ, music production became a defining part of Sergio D’Angelo’s artistic path, leading to original releases, collaborations and remixes across house, soulful house and dance music.
Over the years, his productions have brought together the influences that have always shaped his musical identity — soul, funk, disco and house — combining club culture with a strong emphasis on musicianship, vocals and songwriting.
